Author Guidelines

La Saeta Universitaria Académica y de Investigación is completely free of charge, so it does not charge authors any submission or publication fees, nor does it remunerate peer reviewers.

Essential criteria to consider:

  • Mandatory format: Submissions must strictly follow the official template (Download official template). Otherwise, the proposal will be returned to the authors.
  • Originality: Articles must be unpublished and must not have been published in any other journal.
  • Submission platform: Manuscripts must be submitted exclusively through the OJS system. Any inquiries may be sent to [email protected].
  • Accepted languages: Submissions are accepted in Spanish, Guaraní, English, and Portuguese.

Document style and formatting:

  1. Line spacing: 1.5.
  2. Font size: 12-point Times New Roman.
  3. Page size: A4.
  4. Margins: 2.5 cm (Word default setting).
  5. Alignment: "Justified", with first-line indent for each paragraph.
  6. Page numbering: Located at the top right of the page using plain Arabic numerals (unformatted Word numbers).
  7. Use italics instead of underlining for foreign words (except for URLs).
  8. All illustrations, figures, and tables must be embedded within the text in their corresponding locations, not at the end. Images and graphs must be labeled as "Illustration"; tables must be labeled as "Table". In both cases, they must be numbered consecutively and cited according to journal standards: Illustration 1, Illustration 2...; Table 1, Table 2...
  9. Maximum length: 25 pages.
  10. Manuscripts must be submitted in editable Word format (.docx).

Author information (Maximum 5 authors):

  • Full names: Placed below the article title, right-aligned, using the same font size as the body text.
  • Highest academic degree: Indicate the highest academic degree of each author (e.g., Ph.D. in Education). This must be placed in a footnote (using Word's References > Insert Footnote menu) in 11-point Times New Roman.
  • Institutional affiliation: Institution of origin, employment, or direct affiliation (university, company, research center, school; e.g., Universidad Autónoma de Encarnación). This must be included in the footnote alongside the academic degree in 11-point Times New Roman.
  • Email address: Institutional email for each author, placed in the footnote along with the academic degree and affiliation.
  • Footnote example: Ph.D. in Education (Universidad Autónoma de Encarnación). Email: [email protected]

Formal structure of the article:

  • Title
  • Abstract: Between 200 and 500 words.
  • Keywords: 3 to 5 terms separated from the abstract text, capitalized only on the first letter, without bold or italics, justified alignment (11-point Times New Roman). They must follow the "Keywords:" label, preferably selected from the UNESCO Thesaurus, separated by hyphens, and ending with a period. Example: Education-University-Learning.
  • 1. Introduction: Identifies the research problem and places it within the current state of the art, highlighting key previous contributions, rationale, hypotheses, and objectives. An extensive standalone literature review should be avoided, incorporating relevant theoretical background directly into this section. If subheadings are used, follow decimal numbering: 1.1, 1.2, 1.2.1, etc.
  • 2. Methodology: Clearly explains the research method, sample and selection criteria, data collection instruments, and analytical framework in full detail. Subheadings must follow decimal numbering: 2.1, 2.2, 2.2.1, etc.
  • 3. Results and Discussion: Presentation of findings, their interpretation, and comparison with the theoretical framework.
  • 4. Conclusions: Summary of findings, highlighting new insights and future research directions.
  • 5. References: Formatted strictly in APA 7th edition, including URLs wherever available. All in-text citations, tables, and figures must conform to APA 7th edition guidelines.

Required documentation and resources:

  • Declaration of Originality: Authors must submit the Declaration of Originality and Publication Consent Form signed by at least one author. (DOWNLOAD DECLARATION TEMPLATE)
